Donald Hudson

Donald Hudson developed an interest in plants and ecology in the early 1970s while leading expeditions for the Chewonki Foundation in Maine and Quebec. He became the Head Naturalist at Chewonki in 1982 and was appointed President in 1991. He received an Environmental Merit Lifetime Achievement award from the US EPA and an Outdoor Hero Award from LL Bean when he retired in 2010 to become a full-time volunteer for the International Appalachian Trail and a number of other “friends” groups and environmental organizations.
