John Groff

John Groff has hiked and climbed for more than fifty years, first in the Ramapo Hills of southern New York, then extensively in the Adirondacks, Shawangunks, White Mountains of New Hampshire and Cascades of Washington State, among other places. He is retired from a career teaching English at the Ethel Walker School in Connecticut, where he also ran an outdoor program. Having just finished the 48 White Mountain peaks over 4,000 feet, he looks forward to exploring the hiking possibilities of Pennsylvania, where he now lives. (Photo: Karen Price)
