Jonathan Schechter is a naturalist and four-season adventurer who writes weekly nature and wildlife blogs for the Oakland County, Michigan, Government. He is also a semi-retired ER paramedic, a member of the Wilderness Medical Society and a seasonal volunteer lighthouse keeper on South Manitou Island for Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
